Minds in the Gutter is a Comics Academia blog run by six people lucky enough to spend a year together completing a Masters of Literature in Comics and Graphic Novels. We all approach comics differently, as theorists, archivists, social commentators, educators, gamers, and historians, but we all love the medium. We wanted to keep on studying and sharing our knowledge about comics, and after one of our contributors banged their head a few times too many, the idea was born to create a platform for us to do just that.

Minds in the Gutter will be posting two academic essays every month, along with smaller pieces that will range from reviews to musings on what comics are, and considering different comics industries.
