Rachel Davis
By day, Rachel A. Davis is interested in issues of intersectionality in comics, both the medium and its larger culture. This interest led her to co-found LDComics Dundee, a branch of the international non-profit organization dedicated to providing a platform and community for comic lovers to meet and support one another. However, by night, Rachel is a defender of Archie Comics, a crusader for diverse, creator-owned comics and lover of well-argued comics editorials such as those seen on her former employer's website ComicsVerse.
All of these roles were utilized in her Masters dissertation for the Comics and Graphic Novels program at the University of Dundee, where Rachel constructed a history of comics authorship to understand how today’s social media has (re)defined comics authorship. Regardless of what time of day it is, Rachel is very much a New Yorker: loud, opinionated, and hungry for bagels.
